MID SEASON REVIEW PART B

Colts 3-4 93% 7th Place

Colts Coach Crackers Dwyer has done a great job bring the colts boys together considering academy duties and players being promoted to seniors and reserves has presented challenge, but the lads have been competitive in every match. The last start v Mt Gravatt typified the attitude of the coaches and players holding on for a gritty 3 point win despite being without several key players. In another positive for the club, it is great to see the colts and under 16s working together with credit to 16s coach Travis Marsham for promoting players to colts level where practical, which augurs well for the club’s future.

Women’s 2-3 89% 5th Place

The women despite playing premiership fancies Morningside twice in the opening 4 games are mid table with a couple of encouraging performances. Spirit is high in the group and under the tutelage of Gary Goodman and Tim Searl the players will look to keep improving as the season progresses. Its great to see the growth in the women’s program with a second team being added this year. The wins will start to come as the group comes together.

Suns Academy Update

8 Cats players turned out for the GC Suns Academy NAB League match against Dandenong Stingrays last weekend. Bodhi UWLAND and Aussie HARRIS both reconfirmed their status as 2 of the best prospects in the state both having 29 disposals, with Uwland also hitting the scoreboard with 2 goals. Jonah SEMMLER also kicked a goal with one of his 15 disposals as did Jared ECKERSLEY who is working back after a long injury lay off. Cody HARRINGTON backed up his excellent display the previous week against the Lions Academy with another solid showing. We look forward to these players filtering back gradually as academy and allies duties are completed.
